Just a few questions to get you started talking…

Posted on November 30, 2008. Filed under: questions | Tags: , , |

Um, I’m just a dumb housewife and all but would someone explain to me why there is so much arguing over how to jump start the economy.  One camp seems to be intent on lowering (or eliminating) capital gains taxes and another on putting some (or a whole truckload of) money into public works to create jobs.  Would it be possible to just do both? Or would that somehow be clipping the one thread holding everything together and cause mass chaos?  Just curious. Please fill me in, someone.

Here’s another question.  Where do you get your news from?  What do you consider the most reliable sources to turn to when you want to get informed on whatever news or issues are out there? Just curious, again.

OK, here’s a doozie.  What do you think is the best way to eliminate terrorism around the globe?  I was hearing a very interesting commentary on this, and the interviewee was saying we need to get to the root of the problem if we are ever going to solve it, and that is when someone changed the channel on me.  Now I know what the root of the problem is with my HOME, but not with terrorism.  What do YOU think the root is?

The sad thing is, no one really knows what thread (cause I think that it is just a thread)is holding it all together. I don’t trust that we are alway told the truth, so will we ever know? Us dumb housewives at least? Someone knows but depending on which way the wind is blowing is what answer you’ll get.

News…again, I tend to go with the more conservative places if I make a point of searching for news. Otherwise, what ever jumps out at me when I log onto the internet. Again, back to the “who knows who is really telling the truth?” I tend to be conservative but do I know that the conservative news sources are really telling it how it is any more than the liberal sources?

RE: terrorism. I really do believe that we do need to get to the root of the problem and not rest until it is addressed and no longer poses a threat. How to do that? I don’t know!

There! How helpful was I? 🙂 But these are things I think of too…fleetingly. Between diaper changing. And working. And spending quality time with my children. And my husband. Trying to make my little tribe an honorable one. Maybe that’s the answer. We all need to make sure our little charges turn out okay, and if everyone does that, no one will turn into terrorists! Ha! Idealistic but not realistic.
